Los Barriles is part of the growing East Cape region of Los Cabos.  Just 34 kilometers north of San Jose del Cabo (77km via Hwy 1) and the airport, this sheltered Sea of Cortez region is quickly growing in popularity.  Known for its rich fishinggrounds, great diving, excellent wind surfing and kite boarding, sleepy East Cape towns such as Los Barriles are truly up-and-comers.  If you are interested in water sports, Los Barriles is the place to be.  This is a great day trip from Cabo San Lucas or there are quite a few places to stay overnight.  Most hotels offer packages with meals and activities. 

Fishing along the East Cape offers some of the best sport fishing in the world!  If you’re planning a fishing trip you’ll want to book an overnight in Los Barriles so you can head out with the awakening of dawn.  Located nearby is Cabo Pulmo, site of one of the few coral reefs in the Seas of Cortez.  This reef is part of a national marine reserve and offers excellent diving and snorkeling.  The easiest way to visit Los Barriles and neighboring towns is to rent a car and take Highway 1.  Come see what it’s all about!
