La Paz is one of the most beautiful places for snorkeling and diving in the Sea of Cortez.  It has come to be well known due to dive sites around the islands that form part of the bay.  Espiritu Santo is considered one of the most interesting sites.  La Paz’s dive sites include many interesting geologic and natural points of interest.  Marine mountains such as El Bajo are recommended for experienced divers.  Cabo Pulmo is a gorgeous natural reef very close to La Paz and offers snorkeling and diving for all levels. 

Located in Punta Arenas is Cueva de Leon - considered one of the best places to dive.  Underwater ships (artificial reefs) attract all kinds of interesting aquatic life and are the highlight of these dives. To the North you’ll find Las Animas located on Cerralvo Island.  This is a world-class diving paradise where Hammerhead shark caves allow divers to swim among these spectacular specimens.
