Enjoy the Untouched Natural Beauty of the Baja’s East Cape While it Lasts!
Historically the East Cape of the Baja was a hidden playground to the stars and those passionate fisherman lucky enough to have a private pilot’s license. Some of the richest fishing in the world can still be found off the Baja’s East Cape. The area is remains a quiet hideaway to some as the Southern Baja Highway (Hwy 1) still doesn’t touch much of this natural area. From Cabo San Lucas north, the highway meets the sea at Buena Vista and Los Barriles. From La Paz south to Los Barriles the only access to the beautiful beaches on the East Cape is by 4×4 road. This leaves an area between La Ribera and Los Barriles with little access and a large stretch from Los Barriles north to Bahia de los Suenos in a natural state (see blue line on the map). Someday development will make it to the most beautiful part of the Baja, but for now these secret stretches of white sand beach and calm waters rich with aquatic life remain somewhat of a hidden secret.
Someday the highway will surely follow the East Cape to make this gorgeous real estate more accessible. Today however, you’ll need a 4×4 vehicle or an ATV to brave the rough dirt roads. It’s well worth it as some of the best scenery and most pristine beaches in the Baja await you.
Take a look at a virtual tour of some of the beautiful scenery that the Baja’s East Cape has to offer - this is perhaps Mexico as it was twenty years ago before major developers discovered gold!
